This collection of selected texts, previously unpublished in French, offers an insight into the American feminist movement of the early 1970s and highlights the decisive role played by lesbians. Between 1969 and 1974, major texts were written by groups such as the Lavender Menace and authors such as Martha Shelley, Willyce Kim, Rita Mae Brown, Judy Grahn and Sue Katz. By problematising gender, class, race and their multiple intersections, they have defended revolutionary positions. Combining poems, manifestos, testimonies and pamphlets, this book focuses on the inventiveness and radicalism of these young homosexual feminists.
