A look back on the exhibition “We Don’t Record Flowers, Said the Geographer” (2010)
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Bétonsalon, we have begun a case-by-case reading of its history by progressively opening up the paper and digital archives, seeking to open this exploration to all the “stakeholders” (title of a 2009 exhibition) according to their affinities: the people involved who initiated, animated, or simply passed through this or that project, individual or collective actors, artists, curators, audiences, partners, students, professors, university staff, residents, children, passers-by, dog walkers, shopkeepers, associations. .. This time, we open the archives of the exhibition “We do not note flowers, says the geographer” (2010) whose associate curators were Virginie Bobin and Julia Kläring (bo-ring). This exhibition, which took “as its starting point the appropriation – in various forms and for various reasons – of the desert and its images in modern and postmodern political and cultural history” resonates with the current exhibition of Abdessamad El Montassir.
