The team is developing a programme of activities designed and intended for the public to provide a high-quality service, adapted to the needs of everyone. For groups of people with disabilities, we offer adapted visits (sign language, whispered, etc.), as well as dedicated workshops. We adapt our hospitality and the private tours we offer for individuals.

* Universal accessibility is defined as the design of environments, products and services so that all people, regardless of age, gender, ability and cultural background, have equal opportunities to access and understand information.

Access to the art centre without any structural restrictions and the ability to move around the various areas without any obstacles or hindrances are key requirements for full accessibility. All areas open to the public are wheelchair accessible.

• Access to the art centre:

By public transport, metro, RER and bus, with various accessible stops (lifts, clear access, etc.): Metro line 14 and RER C, Bibliothèque François Mitterrand stop, exit 2 Avenue de France/ exit 3 Rue René Goscinny (served by a lift); bus 64: accessible stop “Bibliothèque – Chevaleret”, bus 62 ; 89 accessible stop “Bibliothèque – Rue Mann”, bus 132 accessible stop “Oudiné”.

By car: Wheelchair users can be dropped off right in front of the art centre: access via rue Marguerite Duras, then via Esplanade Pierre Vidal Naquet, along the Halle aux farines. The nearest designated parking spaces are on rue Françoise Dolto, then rue Hélène Brion and rue René Goscinny.

• The entrance to the art centre is wheelchair accessible (114 cm wide, no steps).

• Circulation in the art centre: the exhibition space of the art centre is located on the ground floor. The reception desk is 80 cm high to allow people in wheelchairs to approach. Adapted toilets are available in the reception area. Seats are provided and placed as close as possible to the works in the exhibition space upon request.

Accessibility measures for the visually impaired aim to convey information appropriately, to make it easier to move around and to facilitate the artistic and aesthetic experience, both independently and in the company of a mediator, who guides, supports and personalises the visit.

Bétonsalon is a partner of the Souffleurs d’Images organisation to develop “whispered tours” for the visually impaired public.
The visitor services team offers tactile or descriptive tours of the exhibitions on request.

Thanks to sign language and the loan of audio assistance systems, the deaf and hard of hearing community can visit, participate and enjoy the art centre.
To do this, contact the art centre at least one week before your visit, two weeks for groups so that the team can arrange for a sign language interpreter or the loan of magnetic induction loops.

Bétonsalon is a forum for dialogue and exchange for inclusion and social coexistence. Visits and specific workshops adapted to the mentally, psychically and cognitively handicapped are devised and designed in close discussion with the supporting professionals. These special times of sharing and experience, of being aware of oneself and others, offer opportunities for critical education and personal expression and help to strengthen and stimulate the abilities of everyone.

Bétonsalon provides tours in English, Spanish and Portuguese thanks to the variety and complementarity of the backgrounds of its team members.
The art centre also works in partnership with associations that conduct guided tours in other languages, notably with the neighbouring Inalco –
Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales.

Lastly, the visitors’ team organises visits adapted to allophone visitors and those learning French. Encouraging the personal expression of participants, these visits are an opportunity to practice speaking in French and to open up spaces for debate and reflection with people living in exile.
