    January 30 - May 22, 2008

    A proposal by Jochen Dehn

The “School for Invisibility” seeks to discover the possibilities of becoming less concrete, more diffuse, and of dissolving oneself without disappearing. Invisibility is an expansion of surface area. We will study the methods that permit us to pass through walls without requiring us to use doors. We will exploit in particular the possibilities presented by collisions, failures and misunderstandings.
The “School for Invisibility” is a selection of studies with variable dimensions that was created in 2005 with Frédéric Danos, Jochen Dehn, Volko Kamenski and Mateusz Kula.

Jochen Dehn, born in 1968, lives in Paris. His practice as a performer takes various forms including theatrical performances in apartments (2004), mud wrestling (Mud, 2005), works for an actress and an elephant (2005), games with the detectors in the Louvre (Liquid, 2006) and a homage to the invention of Velcro (I am you as an explosion, 2005). By engaging the body and the space around it, Jochen Dehn expands upon forms and strategies that tend to reveal contact zones and thus to reduce the distance that separates the body from its possible collisions. He collaborates regularly with Frédéric Danos, Rekolonisation and Gelitin, among others.
